Burning rubber

Hah got ya, this post is not about burn outs. I was driving on a causeway where the speedlimit is normally around 80mph and as I floored it for some fast accel I was around 100. I don't feel any performance issues but at the endish area of our powerband (i guess like high4's) I start to smell something burning so I put the windows up and it smells maybe like a plastic burning? Anyone know what that can be? I had that digital readout on my odometer and I put it to degress and I was only like 103, normal oil pressure, full gas tank etc. Anyone know or have problems like that?

No to the plastic bag, It happened twice, both at near 100 give or take 15mph. And it was also at higher rpms I noticed. When I let off and just drove regular/slower it seemed to still be there and it took a while for it to go away

well, in that case it could be your burning oil.

Oil pressure said normal on the digital read thing, Is there any indicator that it could be the oil, like something I can check?

yeah...the next time it happens pull over and pull your dip stick out and smell it. If it smells even close to the smell your talking about, then thats your problem.

lol well when I pop the hood the smell is going to be everywhere so I doubt I will be able to tell if it's from the stick or not. Also I don't want to act out the acronym "Found on road dead" etc

if the car runs, its not dead. And take the stick out and walk away from the engine and smell it....
