exhaust idea

my buddy left cats on his truck and took the muffler off, and it sounds quiet at idle and like a freakin race car wide open. the truck is a v8. anyway ima try it, but wanted to know if any of you did the same, (straight pipe after last cat). and if so how it sounded. being a smaller motor i hope it'll still sound good

thats what i thought about the truck, but it sounded great, anyway if the muffler is a bolt on muffler ima take it off to test it next week when i install the cai

difference v8...v6 believe it or not v8s have MANY MANY different ways that they sound good...a car like our v6 has about 2-3 choices

I know people have done it some times it sounds good other it sound terrible.. I don't like it but hey is my opinion u r free 2 do what ever u like with your stang

haha i know v8's sound better in more ways than one, but it's a free test to see how it sounds so if i dont like it ima put a 40 series on for now till i actually need more flow

i've done it on our cars...disconnected it where it came to a y and took the rest off...it's sounds bad ass until u get btw 3-4k rpms then it sounds like a ricer on steroids.. but if u do do it bc careful not to break the exhaust manifold where it connects to the midpipe bc the midpipe has no hanger so when u punch it i pulls down on they portion of the exhaust...just fyi bc i broke mine...but it led to me getting true duals so it kinda worked out

yea duals with 40's will be my main exhaust, this will be temp either way, and that wont change unless i get boost, then straight through system.

yeah man it doesn't sounds that bad man...some ppl even asked if it was a gt...lol scared off a shit load of ricers though

o hey another thing to help...when ur taking off the rubber peice from the hanger use a spray bottle wit water and soap...believe me IT HELPS to get it off...IT HELPS
