how to remove the CAI filter to clean
I going to go ahead and ask this at the risk of being called a moron. I'd rather do it right.
I have a K&N FIPK CAI. It needs cleaned badly becuase of the dust and pollen down here. I had it installed by my mechanic so I wasn't in the shop to watch installation. I figured that the filter would just slip off when I loosened the band. Is that the only thing that needs loosened to remove the filter? I'd rather ask than pull the SOB and end up breaking it. I loosened it and gave it a tug and it didnt budge. Before I go yanking that sucker, I wanted to make sure that was the only thing I needed to loosen. Thanks for advice in advance.... |

I realize that. If the comment is in fun than great becuase I have a sense of humor. If its sarcasm in an attempt to make the author feel smart and me look stupid, than thats different. I really like my car. Unfortunately, I can't dedicate 12 hours a day to become a certified mechanic on the thing. Thats why I use this forum. To learn and make sure I'm not being too ARROGANT and screw something up.
thats all |

one thing you might want to invest in, if you want to be a weekend mechanic, would be a haynes repair manual. you can get one at a local auto store.
