Unhappy

A tiny dilema...

So, I have a bent axle shaft so I have all that I need to change it. But, theres a tiny problem... I have no "hi tech" tools. How do I get my wheel off? The lug nuts are pretty tight on that thing.lol

Please help me out. Any and all suggestions are appreciated!

IMHO, if you can't get your wheel off, you're not equipped to change the axle. BUT, do you have a 4-way? put some more... oomf in it.

But I am assuming you at least have a way to get onto the lug nuts. Right?

Lol. Btw, I don't happen to have a 4 way lug wrench. That might be the issue. For some odd reason, I have two 1-way lug wrenches.

Silly me!

Lug wrench? Meh. I've found a socket and a big torque wrench works great

I usually just use a 1/2 socket wrench to take mine off and torque wrench to put them on(both of which are in my car 24/7). If they're really that difficult then they were probably over torqued.

he means dont let the wrench slip off the lug nit and round it to the point where you cant turn it with a wrench any more.

you have the right attitude. first time for everything.

the other hardware that you'll have to deal with isnt as heavy duty as those lugs.

this write up includes steps for getting the axles in and out. the pics werent working for me but maybe they will show up for you.

Trac-Lok rebuild how to.

I am betting some ahole shop used an impact to torque your wheels. That is a pita.

But everyone gave good advise. Just remember lefty loosy righty tighty. And make sure to be on the lug square to prevent rounding the bolt. And more length = more torque, so use longest wrench possible.

I know its a bent axle shaft. I've taken it numerous places and refused to let em charge me an arm and a leg. Plus, my caliper rubs against my wheel and makes the most annoying squeak! Absolutely hate it!

It's not that idk how to take the wheel off, the nuts are just unusually tight. I've done it on my sister's car before and it wasn't that tight! I'm no weakling, not bragging either. It's not like I haven't dealt with stuff like that before. Just not with my car.
