6x8 for the exact fit. 5x7 with a small gap or using an adapter.

the actual size is 5x7 from the factory! The only difference with the stockers and aftermarkets is that size of the basket that is used. The stock basket is lengthened a bit to reach the bolt holes where as the aftermarket baskets are universal and in some car will require you use a little adapter to fit perfectly.

Either way, 5x7 or 6x8 will work as everyone else has mentioned

Hilarious. Seriously. Now that you've gotten your attention, why not be useful to the OP or not post?

And OP with that question do you plan on upgrading your sound system by any chance?

actually a tape measure is a great way to make sure he's getting the right side...alot of people upgrade their speakers...so its a possibility that the original owner (if the OP is not) may have upgraded to a new size and may or may not have modified the mounting system...it takes all of 5 minutes to remove a door panel or rear panel.

Yes, but that is not what the OP's question was. If he had asked what do I use to measure it with, then maybe.

It's really frustating to want to know something and the first post or first few posts are nothing but sarcasm or "buy a v8". Or "use the search bar".

however using the search bar probly would have given him an instant answer...or even google perhaps which most of the time will link to moddedmustangs a fair amount of the time

Yes but not everyone wants to refer to google or the search bar.

Thus, a simple answer would suffice the user and we can all move on.

i know...all i did was agree with how a tape measure is a great tool to use in this situation incase the original owner (if not the OP) had swapped rear speakers at one point...i know i did in my sixxer and it looked factory with the covering on..then he jumps on my case...i guess he's stiff fuming over the thread that was closed

I didn't jump on your case.

All I said was that not everyone uses the search bar, many do not know it exists. Others refuse to use it because they want to start a conversation and get new information.

OP: also whenever you find out, what size are yours? If you plan to do a sound system, let me know which you are thinking of.

But I'm not trying to fight with you!

You have to take into consideration that you might be interpreting the text all wrong. I'm not trying to sound like I'm warring with you! Ugh I used to have the same problem with text messages.

You seem to be missing the value of 6er's post. Who cares what the OP's question is. Lets say instead of 5x7(6x8) He now has a 6.5" speaker, but since he takes everyone's advice instead of actually looking he orders some 5x7 replacement speakers! Bad news, they won't fit, however from 6ers post he might remove his door panels and actually measure his speakers.

If someone comes in and ask will a throttle body spacer fit my car and provides a link to one, they will get more than just a "yes" they will get about 15 post of "its a paper weight" "don't waste money" etc. All questions are treated as open-ended here.

Yeah, I always wished I had those speakers, there in a good location. I've never looked at a very close enough but I imagine they don't have the rear deck speakers?
