For a supercharger a good brand is procharger and for turbo TMA is making some kits.

First off, you should learn what the difference is between a turbo and supercharger. There is a slight difference believe it or not.

your not going to lose hp, they create a little more drag but it wont be any what noticeable and the benefit of 3.73's will definitely be faster than keeping the stock gearing. and you might lose 1mpg

If you want turbo, don't get 3.73's.

3.73's would be fine for his application. He won't run out of gearing if that's what you're fearing (that rhymed).

i knew you would say this! i understand the pros of a turbo. But hearing the supercharger whine under the hood with a v8 is just sweet. I guess ive never really checked into a turbo v8 much. I would turbo a 6 any day. But with a v8, i would definetly have to think about it.

If you make any decent power with a turbo set-up, the 3.73's will be unnecessary and could hurt.
It doesn't matter what motor you are talking about...3,4,5,6,8,10,12,... a turbo is always better than a super.

I doubt he makes enough power for him to run out of gearing. 3.73s would actually probably help him get into his power band a little quicker. There's soo many factories going into what type of gearing to choose like tire size and where in his rpms he's making peak power in correlation to when you cross the finish line. 3.73's might actually be ideal for his set-up. I know what your thinking, but I can almost promise you he won't run out of gearing. There are tons of people running 3.73s on supercharger or turbo charged applications.
Edit: I did my research on supercharged applications. I may be wrong when it comes to a turbo. Last edited by rfcsoulja; October 26th, 2010 at 11:46 PM. |

There's a reason why there are TT Ford GT's
![]() And if you're serious about turbo I know Garrett makes good stuff, dont cheap out on the turbo itself, you'll just be wasting money

Would 600HP be reasonable? I'm getting help from a user on here but another opinion wouldn't hurt. |
