Am I screwed???

So as some of you know i just reciently got my car back from the shop, Or as i like to call it the chop shop. well when i went to work on the car i found out they had drilled out my ignition cause they broke the key off in there so i replaced the entire steering colume and key. know i know the pats is fucked up and it wont turn over. but the shitty part is i had a sct tuner on the computer and that tuner was in the trunk when i droped it off and now it is gone. seeing as the car is now locked to that tuner does this mean i cant use the new Sct sf3 tuner to disable pats?? i am pretty sure it is but just wondering if i have a chance of hope.

You can use another tuner on your car, they just won't be able to use that tuner on other cars. If you plug another tuner into your car, it'll just save the tune that's on there now as the "stock tune" and you can put whatever other tune on it you want.

Dig up your tune files or whatever you can find and call SCT with the serial number and tell them that someone stole your tuner. Tell them if someone sends in the one with that serial number, not to unlock it for them. Go back to the shop and ask them if they accidentally misplaced your tuner. If they give you the run-around then just tell them, okay but just so you know, that tuner can't be used on other vehicles without being sent back to SCT to be unlocked from my car.

this just means you need to take it back and have it fixed or have them reimburse you for what you fixed that they broke. And get your tuner back

This is what i would have done and not let it slide....

Agree, you need to go back there and figure out wtf happened. Don't go in there guns blazing, but don't be a pussy about it either.

Why did you replace the key/column? That should have been on them.

well i would go back to the shop but it was shut down and the owner has dissapeared with 30 other marines's money. over 2million. 30,000 of that being mine. so to go back and try to get the stuff fixed is out of the question. the guy has 72 federal warrents for his arrest and no word on what is going on. i filed a law suit against the individual but the federal system pretty much told me that i was not worth there time and they had bigger fish to fry. thanks Dcook thats what i thought but i wasnt sure i thought that once a tuner was locked to a car that any other tuner would be denied access till the factory tune was re-flashed. Possibly as a safe guard as to not leave a footprint on the factory tune. i guess ill give it a try. and to everyone else if you look in my garage you will see what i am working with. just finished putting the engine back together and now starting on the interior.

No, you can just get another handheld and get another tune. If you want to have a "factory tune" I'm sure one of the reputable tuners can put that together for you pretty easily so you can return it to stock if you ever felt the need. Talk to Joe@TrickTuners or Rick and Linn at Amazon Tuning Solutions and let them know whats up. I guess the best route would be to get a race tune for your mods, a street tune for your mods, and then the stock tune so you can go back to it if need be

well if i must. they were doing a complete build. starting with 4.3 stroker with eagle forged and dished pistons running 8.1 compression. 2.3L KB mamoth kit with a stand alone computer, kenny brown suspension, subframe connectors, adjustable coilovers with 1.5 front drop and 3/4 rear drop. complete interior with black and red accents and sparco seats custom color matched along with a 8pt roll cage. t5 5spd conversion with built gforce trans and a 8.8 with 3.73 rear gears. cant remember the cam specs but with everything done it should have pushed around 440 to 480 rwh hp. and a 100 shot of zex NO2. but instead they ran off with everything and parted my car.

Ya but I look at it this way I lost a lot of parts but I got the most important thing back and that's the car. I usually do the work my self but didn't have the time for this project and figured I'd help a fellow service member with some business. I'm doing all the work myself now
