95 V6 to 351w swap help
Hello all.
I wasn't really planning on doing much to my car but recently engine started to fall apart and to top it off my tranny is leaking from the tail shaft. So with that much money to be put into it to fix, I figured what the hell, I'll put something good in it. My buddy called me up and told me he had a 351w carburated, I can have, so I decided that's what I'm going to put into it. I've looked at the Mustang Magazine that features the swap and the parts you need to do it for a 5.0 but I'm wondering more to what else I'm going to need for my V6. I know I need new motor mounts, new power steering/ac bracket, rear sump oil pan, oil pump, flywheel, balancer, serpentine spacer, damper, and intake, but im not sure what else I'm going to need. How do I use my computer with it being a carburated motor compared to my v6? Is my K-Member going to withhold the weight and power of the 351w? Will a 4r70w tranny bolt up to my car and the 351w? What else am I going to need? Thank you in advance for the help. |

Try searching the forum there are a few posts with good info on the swap and im sure you will need a new k member and im betting the 4r70w wont bolt up to the 351w without some modification, im by no means an expert tho, just what ive read on the forums before

You will re-use your computer. It just won't control the engine. Not sure if the trans will work. Never tried to use one. Your K-member will be fine. Find a wrecked 94-95 Mustang GT and get all the front accessory brackets.
