wont start up afer a its been running??
hi all my 1998 V6 5 spd. will run fine then after i drive her she wont start, just turns over sputters then stalls. I know i need a new 02 sensor and thats causing it to run a little rough but would that cause it not to start after i drive it? it doesnt have to be far or long for it to do it either....could it be vapor lock....i dont even know what that is ive just heard the term before. Any ideas???

i read that and other than the 02 causing it, it really didnt help me pinpoint anything. And why cant i disconnect the 02 and run it without them? i ran straight pipes before without 02's (just the header ones not the ones after the cats) but since ive put the cats back on and super 44 flowmasters with true duals. im stumped??

You can buy MIL (i think thats the proper acromynm) elminators from Americanmuscle. Its just throwing a code for the o2 sensors? It shouldnt not start because of an o2 sensor.
Edit: you can also get o2 extenders. The MIL eliminators blocks codes from showing up when you run aftermarket exhaust setups that your o2 sensors dont like. Some people get codes, others dont. Its hit and miss. Last edited by 2000stallion; October 29th, 2010 at 11:31 PM. |

well i have all 4 back on now...so dont need them. if its not the one bad o2 causing my problems what else could it be.....and i meant if it is the one bad 02 causeing my problem other than the light being on what would it hurt?

i did in the past and they pulled the code that said a bunch of things but mainly they told me its the 02 sensor Im not sure....i think ill ust replace that and go from there. But again what is vapor lock. SOmeone said that to me and i dont know.

Uhm, well its like when a small amount of water gets in your engine through your intake and messes with your ignition. Take out your spark plugs and see if theres any moisture in there. If it wont turn over at all, its most likely electrical.

that might be a few months back i sucked up some water with my cold ait intake not knowing my splash shield in the fender was cracked. ill take a look at the plugs....sounds like a easy check. ill let you know. thanks for the help
