Don't let the title of that page fool you. It works for 99-04 models. I think they wrote it when only the 99-00 models were available and don't think they ever bothered to update the page.

Also, take a look at your gas pedal before you do it. My gas pedal is a bit worn so it sits with no slack in the throttle cable. If I did this it would just raise my gas pedal up some.

Will this cause the throttle to engage without pushing on the pedal?

no. it simply takes up slack in the throttle cable. Thus reducing lag time when you go hit the gas.

There is no lag time between hitting the pedal and moving the throttle blade.... The ONLY thing that the "pedal mod" does is raise the gas pedal.

due to slack there is a small amount of lag...raising the pedal takes up the slack and poof...lags gone...personal experience here

In the experience with my car I tested it with and without the mod. I experienced no difference between how much the throttle blade moved when the pedal was moved 3/4".

next time use a full 1" spacer...i can see where you wouldn't notice anything since you didn't remove all of the slack

No, not a 1/2" spacer. I meant I moved the throttle 3/4"...I edited 3/4 in right after the initial post, you are fast.
Like push pedal 3/4", measure throttle blade movement. Then do the mod. With the mod in do the same test... I got the same results both times.
