When I searched for it on Jeg's it came up with a Camaro/Firebird spring set, so probably, but you shouldn't do it. Just get a kit designed for Mustangs, particularly your six, such as the Eibach 3518.140 Pro-Kit. Here's a link to Jegs, but i think summit racing has them too.

Hey i have a quick question as well. I have a 2001 v6 mustang. I might be able to get some stock 03 GT springs for dirt cheap. I would cut these GT springs about a coil or so, and see how the drop is. By my only question is, these will fit fine right?

They have the same springs. Fords suspension hasn't really change dramatically from 79-04. Cutting a coil is ok heating up the coil "too" much with the friction isnt.

From what I've learned, you don't NEED new shocks and struts, it's just one of those things that you may as well do while you're putting in the springs. People have also found that the stock shocks and struts can wear out as early as 60,000 miles, though 80,000-100,000 is more reasonable, so you may just want to do it anyways.

you shouldnt use a grinder, it will heat up the spring too much and then it is not as strong.

im sure rev will come in here and explain exactly why.

When you drop a vehicle using lowering springs, the spring rate changes. The addtional increase in spring rate is what causes excess wear on shocks/struts. Since cutting springs doesn't really change the spring rate, then i wouldn't think you would need new shocks or struts. At least this is how I understood it. Hopefully someone else will post who knows a little more than I.
