My v6 has a weird noise when I accelerate (usually above 2000 RPM's). It's not a knock. A buddy told me it's just the fuel injectors. I don't have much experience with fuel injected cars (this is my first) so I don't know whether or not to take that with a grain of salt. Usually occurs in 4th and 5th gear. Sometimes in 2nd and 3rd when I go WOT. No CEL.

What kind of noise is it? Where is it coming from/sound like? A lot of these cars get cracks in their passenger side exhaust manifolds and that will make a little noise.
I'd seafoam your engine and run some injector cleaner to start with, won't hurt anything

Yea, When I had exhaust work done, the tech said I had a leak in my headers that he could weld up for me. That's probably where I'll start. I forgot about that. It does somewhat sound like an exhaust leak. Kind of like a chugging, sucking sound.

+1 and a noticeable loss of power at times if the crack is big enough.

It will hurt plenty of things.
