I got this car this summer and last night when i tried to start it the red security led came on for the first time ever and now it wont even turn on. The security system is a crimestopper. Please help!

Yikes! you mean the theft light? i know that there is a problem with 99-01 stangs and what your describing. from what ive heard you have to get it towed to a dealer so they can get it out of lockdown mode.

anyone else wanna chime in and confirm this?

Its probably that PATS system, youll probably are gonna need to get your car towed to the nearest ford dealership and have them reprogram your keys.

try disconnecting the negative cable on the battery for like an hour and see if it starts but use your spare key instead.

whenever the theft light blinks rapidly its supposed to mean that there is an error with the security system and you will be locked out

By any chance did u bang the back left of the mustang in the trunk? theirs a red switch back their if u hit it hard it turns on and ur car wont turn on. try turning that switch off by pressing it and itll start up. happend to my friends 98 v6 stang.
