4.10 gears


I tried using search bar but won't input 4.10s

Quick question. What is the top speed for a 2000 mustang v6 with 4.10s... I know it ca depend on mods but I want a rough estimate.. My car barely got to 100 and it seems really low

Okay I hit about 100 but It was at 5800RPMs... I think ESG is thinking under perfect conditions down the Rocky Mountians

With 4.10's, 285/35/18 rear tires, 5250 rpm in THIRD gear (auto) will be 98.44 MPH. Don't got WOT in OD.

285mm/25.4 = 11.22" tire section width
(11.22" x .35 x 2) + 18 = 25.85" tire diameter
25.85" x 3.14 = 81.18" tire circumference
(81.18"/63360) x (5250/4.10) x 60 = 98.44 MPH

What people? To reach 120 MPH with 4.10's and a 25.8" tall rear tire in your 1:1 gear (third gear in an auto), you'll need to spin the engine to 6400 rpm.

yes i know my car is slow. what would my top be? not that i would go that fast but i have looked all over the internet and people say top is near like 118 before your speed limiter kicks in.

In a manual with stock tire size and gearing hitting the speed limiter was no problem stock.

with 4.10's cold air, catback and tuner My car maxed out at 140 via gps spedo. I love my 4.10s but if you want to keep the mpg of a 6r I would go 3.73s. If Mpg dosnt matter go with 4.10s

I don't know the stock tire size or gear ratio for a V6 Mustang. I'd guess 225/55R16 and 3.27's. If that's right, then your top speed in third gear at 5250 rpm would be 123 MPH. That's if the factory speed limiter is either set higher than that (doubtful) or if it's been removed with a tune.

i heard it was 118 when the speed limiter kicked in but with a tuner i heard i could hit 125. with gears t-lok and tuner higher...maybe

If you do get gears it would be unwise of you not to get a tuner while your at it, and this would take off the speed limiter. If you planning on being more concerned about top speed then acceleration then ditch the gears.

I would not be that concerned about top speed. Unless you are able to go 98 mph or faster in the 1/4 mile then you don't have to worry. That is a way to build a car. By hp and how fast you will go at the end of the 1/4 mile. Then you can get the correct gear and tire size to get your car to top out by the end of the 1/4 mile in 3rd gear.
