The place I get my work done charges $275 + the price of gears. Not bad at all imo.

I am not even going to try to do the install myself. I know about exterior and some things with the engine, but i know nothing about rear end differentials. I have an impact and some of the tools, but i dont have all of them needed for this.

I'll just have to call around and try to get a good price.

That, sockets and a dial indicator is about all that you need

for whoever asked i believe an 8.8 is roughly 80lbs heavier than a 7.5 but it also depends on your year

+1 this is one mod i would let the shops do if youve never done it before.

Also i was quoted 250 for the gears+tlok install before i decided to put them up for sale instead of installing them.

no dont worry about it, the upgraded strength far more important than any downsides of the added weight

Cost me $300 and I brought in the gears, tlok, and bearing + install kit. Best mods on my car imo.

So it is probably going to be between $700 and $800 total for this. Any thoughts on used gears and t-lok? I know it is most likely a bad idea because of gear wear but any opinions would help.
