Two Questions
Ok first question- I installed my cai today and I hear a pronounced whistle before my baby shifts gears. I heard 6's were known to whistle but I never really noticed it until now, Is this normal?
SECOND!- Ok all the parts came in for my exhaust, I went to take the ypipe out and started at the manifold, soaked driver side w/ wd40 and then got lunch- came back and they practically fell of. The passenger side, however, didn't budge. I soaked it and let it sit for a while and it wouldn't budge. I had the passenger side manifold replaced not too long ago and a mechanic did it, did he maybe put it on too tight or use loctite? I heard that you should torch the nut and then take it off but if I have to do that I'm taking it to a mechanic to take off and put it on so I can take it off at home. |

yes the whistling is normal. its just the air being sucked in.
try some pb blaster, it works better than wd40, presumably.

I'm talking about I had the ratchet and was pulling it like a mofo (I didn't try to kick it although I should've) and it didn't budge at all, I saw the extensions like bending because of the twisting, craftsman tools so I know it wasn't the tools.

If I just take it up to a mechanic it'll take 2 min for them to take it off right? That would be much more convenient

So either take it to my mechanic to loosen up (he put it on when he replaced the passenger side manifold and I think he over tightened it) or buy more tools to take it off? I'm probably going to the mechanic, is there any other obvious problems with my catbacks or no? I don't expect so, we'll see tomorrow.

personally i would buy a breaker bar (your gonna need one eventually anyway). Dont take it to the mechanic unless you absolutely need to.

Ya I wiki'd it. I see what the breaker bar is and I might use a "cheater bar" tomorrow. I think I'm still going to take it to the mechanic and see what they did to make the bolt immovable.

if your mustang is 01 or newer that extra plug is for the air temp sensor but you have that incorporated into your mass air sensor, therefore there is nothing to put there. you will want to plug it up however, so you don't lose any airflow, as you will have some leaking out....plus something could get in there when you aren't running the car and then you'd suck it in next time you ran it.....if yours is similar to mine i found that a thumb tack was a nice fit and was convenient b/c I had it around the house...i picked out a nice blue one since it matched my couplings and cut the pin off with some wire cutters(i left a little bit so that i could take it out with some pliers if needed) it should be snug enough to prevent air from escaping, but i used some silicone sealant around the edge to make sure....also, if you don't like the Red Green methodology for grommet plugging i believe there are plugs you can buy at advance auto parts or wherever to plug the grommet
