Finishing my exhaust final questions
Does anyone know what size and kind of bolts the muffler and tip hangers take on a 96 GT. i have a 96 v6 and im going duels out the back that ya know are made for a gt and i threw away (stupidly) all the old hardware when i took off the stock exhaust for dumps years ago. so i need specificaly all 4 bolts for both muffler hangers, and what kind of tip hangers i need(i assume factory 96 GT tip hangers) and where to find them, and what bolts i need for those tip hangers.
i apreciate it. |

Well as far as the hangers are concerned you can get the rubber isolator from a parts store and regular sticks of iron or steel and a welder and you have your hangers. I have no clue as to what size bolts you need but weld them on because they tend to get lose.

this is the part # for the hangar, write it down and go to your local dealer and you can have them ordered
![]() and this is what it looks like, there is a hole in the middle under the sticker ![]() the bolts can be found at a hardware store for about $3-5, just make sure to get nylon locking nuts, size shouldnt matter too much as long as it fits in the hangar and the length should be about an inch or inch and a half or if your dealer wants to rape you on those ones just buy this kit Pypes Exhaust Hanger Kit (99-04) at AmericanMuscle.com - Free Shipping! this is where it will bolt in on your bumper support ![]() see the 2 square holes, you will have to put a wrench in there to hold the nuts while you tighten the bolts, so get bolts that are short enough to allow you to do that.
