Whistle from engine

Few weeks ago I got a 02 v6, and runs fine. Has a whistle from the engine though, and my check engine light comes on, error P0455. The guys at Advance thought it was my gas cap, which was pretty messed up, so I got a new one, but the light still comes on with the same error. I checked all the hoses, and found one that I don't know what is and it easily slides out of where it goes. Anyone able to tell me if it is supposed to easily come out and what exactly it is? I think it may be the whistling hose.

Circled here in the pic is the hose. (not my car, just an engine I found online)

P0455 Evaporative Emission Control System Leak Detected (gross leak)... The leak could be anywhere in the evap system which runs the entire length of the vehicle. Most often it is either the gas cap or the fuel filler neck grommet.

The circled piece in the pic is the PCV (Positive Crankcase ventilation) valve. Yes they do pull out very easily.

I went to school to be a mechanic, so I know what I'm talking about most of the time.

mods in the garage, slowly getting peppier.

What is cirlced is your PCV. I would change it ($5). and see if it keeps whistling. As far as EVAP leak. *Have fun*

Any tips on finding the EVAP leak instead of taking it to a shop?

If was your gas cap it will take a couple days for it to go away.. When I first got my car I didnt ever tighten it enough... You could try disconnecting the battery for ten minutes and see if it goes away...

I was bout to say nice engine bay! but its not yours :
lol if you have a cold air intake thaty could be the whistle lmfao

Lol this weekend I'll take pictures of it and post them. My car is fully stock, but not for long

I've had the thing reset few times now at Advance. I think I smell gas coming from driver side rear near the gas tank, after research on the internet I think it may be a hose to/from the canister vent or even the canister itself.

Number 3 is what I'm looking at here. I can't find any actual pics of what/where I'm looking for though so I just have to guess thats what I'm looking at.
