Being that the 3.7L V6 is shared between Ford and Mazda, I'd love to see it in a Miata... will NEVER happen, though.

That, or bring back the Escort, only true to it's Mk I/Mk II roots, not the atrocity it became stateside.

Dang, I am glad others feel the same way I do in this thread. I think the new cars look goofy as heck. They have giant wheels on them inside giant wheel wells. The look like toy cars that I played with when I was 3 not real cars. They are also fricken huge. I parked my 02 next to an 08 and my car looked like a baby, the new cars are all boats. I am glad that ford downsized quite a bit for 10 and 11 and love the new 5.0 but it is still not enough yet. Why not make them aerodynamic and sleek instead of old school. Old school is cool, but not when you try remaking it in a new form.

Sure, you have less weight pushing down on the tire, however, you have less mass to resist the forward acceleration the tire is trying to provide.

Also, the gain in traction rubber provides from additional weight applied is diminishing. Think about a model wheel. If you put it on a table, even a plastic wheel will roll, right up until you starting putting weight on it. That's when it slides.
This is where the rear wing comes into the physics... They provide the downforce necessary to help keep traction...

yeah plus the front of the cars I think are ugly, as well as the rear end. And the wheels are insanely huge. I could fit my car into a 10 stang. They are about the size of an SUV now.

+1 for the anti-large wheel sentiment. I like my 17s, and I really don't feel the need or desire to go any larger. However, with the way the new cars are designed, they don't look right with anything smaller than a 19.
