Car alarm
About a week ago I put my key in the ignition started the car and opened my car door again to get my seatbelt but..that ringing sound when you have the headlights on is always on and never stops even when the door is closed....is there a switch or something that the door touches so the stupid thing will stop ringing..?
Hope this is somewhat clear, i want to fix this asap since this is annoying...yeah i could just get in close the door put the key in and it would not happen but my seatbelt usually stuck at the door so i have to open it again.. |

try spraying the hinges with wd 40, mine does this sometimes with the dome light and thats what usually fixes it. Or you could pm wraitherx (a member here) im sure he will have some advice.

going to have to Reopen this issue again.....the dome light going off and the stupid beeping sound is an official problem and does not shut off...what do i need to do to fix this since spraying hinges doesn't work (worked for a day awhile back)
again it all started when it got cold outside 20-30 degrees |

your door ajar switch is probably bad and unfortunately it isn't a seperate piece. it is built into the door lock actuator so if you wanted to properly fix it then you would have to replace it. so it depends on what you want to do.
if you just don't care you can remove the overhead bulb so that the light doesnt always stay on. as far as the ringing goes you will have to remove the steering column shroud in order to access a black wire that runs into the ignition cylinder and either cut it or follow it and disconnect it so that the ringing stops whenever you have your lights on. Before doing this though make sure that you have the right wire. It will be a single black solitary wire that will run into the ignition cylinder. Inside the cylinder this piece has a flexible metal contact that only comes on because it comes in contact with a portion of metal when the key is turned all the way off. Also, before you do this spray the actual locking mechanism and not the hinges and pull your panel off to check for any loose connections or broken wires.
