I have to ask....good deal more?

Well bottom line is that theres a guy with a 00 v6 mustang asking 3500
the only problem is that it has a lean realse so i told the guy that if he can get a clear/clean title we got a deal. Well he sent the paper work out 5 weeks ago and nothing back yet.....

so after lossing a little faith in the new 6er i cam across this

2002 Ford Mustang GT

2002 gt
i look at it its got a great interior id say 4.5/5
engine is great and cosmetic 4/5
miles 3.5/5
so i gotaa ask stupidly wat do think...

the only thing is that with thev6 i have all the moeny now and the gt i dont but i dont want to take out a 500 dollar loan but then again i dont want some one else to get the car..........

wat u think??????

how many miles 3.5/5 doesnt mean anything lol.

ask him if he will take however much you have cash, if he doesnt take out a 500$ loan. im not sure where you live but where i live you have to pay tax when you xfer ownership and then youl want to insur it, so save extra for that. if you need to take a loan i would because thats a hell of a deal if its all in mint cond

ask about the mileage and check on the title. $3500, for a straight, clean-titled and running vehicle is a good deal pretty much no matter what.

You live in Texas?
I would say look for small things/big things of course.. noise in the clutch, small rattles, you know, even the SMALLEST stuff before buying a car. you dont wanna go down the road a few months later and regret buying it.
Insurance costs as well. think of those, get estimates with your current company.
ask about oil changes. leaks. see if anythings been replaced, if its been in a wreck. check the rear end- if it has rear end oil stains, then it may have a rear main seal leak. that is a little tidious to fix. hell, check the motor as well. leaks. ask about the little stuff. be annoying but assertive. YOU ARE INVESTING INTO SOMETHING YOU WILL HAVE FOR A WHILE. and answer this- can you handle that V8 POWAH ?!?!

Just because the title is clean doesn't mean the car is. They simply didn't file a collision. Unfortunately, i learned my cars door was hit and replaces 6 months after i bought it. So far its ok had it for about 3 years but my CC plate on the diver side cant adjust enough for my springs so i got new CC plates in the mail so no worries. Take it down to a paint shop and have the painter look at it to see if there is any change in the color for where it could have been hit and touched up. Dont trust him or a dealer they lie...

Thats a great deal I bought my sixer in almost perfect condition for 6000 with 74K on it but it was from a dealer and they included a six month warranty and it was stupid of me.

Basically I am saying its a good deal and if the mechanic says its in good condition buy it!

Sounds like you have your mind made up... just DO NOT buy a car unless you have the title in hand... always safe to have him go to the tag agency with you and transfer the title in person. All you need is to buy a car and go to title it and find out it's stolen...

Bro, get this car. Make sure you check it out good. If nothing is wrong with it, and he only wants 4,099. Thats a good deal.

When I got my 6er from a private sale about 8 weeks ago, I had them throw in the "Safety Certificate" and "Emmissions Test". So before I even got the car, it was already inspected properly. They had to pay a few a hundred bucks to pass the Safety Certificate for things like brake pads and such. And, passing emissions was good too. The 13% Tax sucked big time and I had to through the government's Black Book value and not our declare value. I also had the Carfax as part of the seller's package so I had the entire vehicle's history.
Just keep in mind... I live in Canada.

I would have loved to get the GT but I was not sure of what I was going to pay for insurance, but I find out after the fact from my broker that I get good rates. The 6er became an option. Another factor was that my 03 Pony Edition 6er only had 100,000 kms on the odometer (60k miles) and stored most of the time and calculates to 12,500 kms/year (approx 7,750 miles/year). One more issue for me in my choice was that GT's with only that much mileage and condition cost about $3-5,000 more... so I opted for something that I'm hoping I can enjoy for a bit...

These are just some things I looked at before buying my Pony and it wasn't so long ago. Mind you, after driving her for 4 weeks, some lady smashed into my car doing about 60 km/hr while I was stopped at a red light. And, it was in the shop for 3 weeks (due to SEMA) but I did get the GT bumper and stonechipped front bumper and GT hood refinished... hehehe.

dude i owned a 2010 v6 and i didnt like it at all. The look of the car was sick but people expected it to be fast cause it was a mustang but it was too slow. Trust me get a gt you wont regret it.

Im happy with my V6 with minimal performance mods. I went from driving pickups to this so its fast enough for me as a college kid.

+0.75 it is a little slow, a good ~50hp/~65tq boost would be good enough for me though, which is pretty much full bolt-ons.
