Opinions please!

Sooo.... I have 2000 V6 that I like to work on but I have a predicament and I just want ideas or suggestions...

My car has a few problems:
-Something's going on with the right rear of my car. My axle is fine but my axle housing is the suspect. Really disturbing noise and noticeable wobble.

-Ball joints...

-Needs a new heater core, so that's its own problem.

And everything else, I can pretty much fix myself...

What would be the best suggestion...
Fix that stuff or trade in the stang and buy a new car?

I'm a mustang boy so I don't think I'm forsaking mustangs just yet and I'm not looking forward to a GT either. I drive alot so that would strip my wallet.lol

Suggestions anyone....?

1 Our v6 stangs and GT's of the same era (99-04) make shitty mpg. They arent far from one another either. If you want a V8, get it.

2 thats alot of shit to mess with ... w/ a stock V6, Id sell/trade for a better condition one.

3 dont mod if you dont want to strip your wallet :p

All I can offer to this thread is that replacing your ball joints isn't that expensive. Just had to go through it myself.

deff do the ball joints. if they break... you might as well add body damage to your list of stuff

I'm sure I'll be able to do the ball joints. But the heater core, I really don't have the kind of time to do it myself since I go to school, church, and work. I'd love to, but I have no time to. A fellow mechanic I know said it would be 500$. And I don't know whats goin on with my axle assembly. Makes the most aggravating noise and gets on my nerves! Last month I took my axle out and everything. The axle shaft is perfectly fine. Put it all back together and the noise slowly increased again. But, my housing looks severely bent. Car suffered a hit n run on the highway couple years ago so that may have caused that. So idk... I think trading it and getting a GT may be the best consideration...

I've come to my senses. I'm just gonna fix the heater issue and the ball joints myself. But, the rear issue, I'll let it persist for a little while before I have the mechanic get to it.

How are the rotors on the rear? I doubt that it would wobble from the housing being bent. Balls joints are no big deal. I'm about to replace mine pretty soon. Are far as heater core, it shouldn't be TOO hard.

Getting to the heater core is a pita. I had to change one in my bro's mustang.

And I thought my gas mileage was bad. I've got a 5 speed with 4.10s and I get about the same as you. Except I have a heavy foot and my tach see's 5k+ every time I enter the highway (which is often) or have a good opportunity with no cops around (only did it in front of a cop once, but he was more worried about some guy speeding than me doing 45 in 2nd gear - which is pretty high RPMs with 4.10s)
