Stubborn Head Bolt


so....i have all head bolts off except one.....and no matter WHAT i do to it.....it wont freaking break loose....how can i break it loose?

im not sure what to sugest but what ever you to do not put heat to it you can damage your head

I used a 3/4" drive breaker bar and about a 4' length of pipe. Be very sure you have the right size socket. On the 99 it was a 15 mm socket as I recall, anyway it's metric. I would get a 6 point socket since if you use a 12 point socket on a very tight fastener and it damages the bolt head you will never get the engine apart! Anyway I think you just need a longer lever arm. Another problem on the 99 was limited access to some of the head bolts due to things like the brake booster in the way.

By the way the reason that one head bolt is so tight is most likely that the head is warped.

yes derrrr lol breaker bar will work but be sure to watch the head because the head bolts are stretch bolts and you can easily snap the head off them.... and again i cant stress enough NO heat or you will most likely dammage the head
