My first car - my first project.

Hey everyone. I recently bought my first car, an Automatic 09' V6 Mustang (plz I KNOW!!! i should of got a GT but I just couldnt afford it lol)

I've been addicted to this car since before it was even in my hands. It's completely stock and my current goals are:

X-pipe true dual exhaust
CAI
1/4 Window covers
12'' Vinyl Black Stripes
Mustang GT Style Grille w/ Fog Lights
High Performance Tires
Window Tints
Tune up (If necessary which seems like it would be)

Im not sure what brands or what sites to go to for each item but I am currently looking. I wont be purchasing anytime soon since I am currently dealing with the first few months payment LOL but any opinions on which brands/sites to go with is greatly appreciated. I will definitely be taking pix of my progress. So far the only thing i've purchased for my car is.....a pine tree freshner LMAO and its black so it goes with my interior

congrats, looks like you need to get some pics up, if your going to get a CAI dont' make the same mistake i did, save up and get a Tuner with a CAI, brand really is your preference, but otherwise the other mods look good.

I was thinking of getting this CAI because it claims to not need a tuner.

BBK Cold Air Intake (2005-2010 V6) at AmericanMuscle.com - Free Shipping!

I'm always hearing horror stories from my friends/family about messing with the computer (tuner). But I want as much quality from the CAI as possible and it doesnt state any HP+ claims just that its better and doesn't need re-tuning.

There's two pix in my gallery. I'm waiting for tomorrow to take pix because I get off work late and its already night time by the time I get back home.

well just FYI the CAi that don't require a tune are OK i have the airraid one for instance, but without a tune you don't really gain much, and tunes you can do search on tunes and you will find a lot of people that have them and if you go through one of the main ones that people get you shouldn't have any issues at all there are a ton of people out there with them. Now my dad always use to share the same horror stories probably and i think that is for what they call a chip because those are crap the majority of the time. Doing a cai without a tune is going to get you the same gains as just throwing in a drop in k&N filter

That's great advice.... I will definitely get a tune when dropping in a CAI. Would I need a tune after every mod? CAI - tune - Exhaust - then tune again?

Would it be a good idea to wait and save up to install the exhaust system and CAI at the same time so I(the mechanics actually) can just tune it all at once?

Please don't tell me you're having a mechanic install a CAI and exhaust....
And get a tuner first in my opinion like and XCal 3. It'll make a difference alone, but you can usually get updated tunes for free for easy stuff like you're doing. I've heard 05+ V6s are much more sensitive to CAI changes, so a tune is best for them. I'd wait and do a few mods at one time. And decide right away as much as possible what you want out of the car. For example don't get a CAI or 4.10 gears if you plan Forced Induction at all.

you won't need a tune for gears or exhaust, i got the airraid from my dad he had it on his car and gave it to me when he sold his car, the gears you will need a tuner for because you'll have to correct the speedo but you won't need a new tune

I plan on having a mechanic install the exhaust and tune after I have the exhaust and cai together. I don't have a garage to work on the exhaust. I live in an apt. Building and I park in the street. No where for me to work under the car myself. I don't plan on getting any other engine work really maybe 4.10 gears but im still debating if I want/need it.
