tranny

dude im driving and all of a sudden white smoke flying out the back of my car... well being in the middle of west virgina i say f it and try to make it to an exit. well the tranny just starts a bunch of shit and now its out.. its a 2000 what tranny do i replace it with??? and havin 4.10 make my tranny go out faster? i mean i put em in and am month later the trans crap.

4.10's wont damage your transmission I don't think because the driveshaft is bringing power from the tranny to the rear end which is where the gears are (I think, I am still learning lol) Since you have 4.10's I am guessing you have an automatic? If so you need a 4RW70AODE tranny, if you have a m/t then you need a tremec T5. With the white smoke it almost sounds like you blew a head gasket, causing all your oil to drain over a short period of time which in turn (since you kept driving) starved your tranny for oil and it overheated causing it to fail. Hows your coolant looking right now?

And if youre an auto it just means you can do a T5 swap now!
