Weight reduction

Is it really worth it to try and shave pounds...I had my spare and jack out today when I was driving and didnt feel a difference at all...would a cf hood and taking out the reas seats and other cf stuff be a worthwhile investment or should I foces on more power

well it may speed ya up by a tiny bit, i kno that after i stripped my trunk down and took the rear seats out and everything before i did my rear seat delete and system, i could def. feel a diff in the back, felt like it was nothin back there to hold the tires to the ground...o yea, no offense, my personal opinion..carbon fiber is for imports, but thats just me, im not a fan of it. it is worth gettin the weight out if ur car is just for go, for the drag strip and u need everything u can to get that edge, but for a dd it isnt worth it

cf for ricers couldnt have said it better my slef. the only reason the cut wieght is for racing or if your thinking of a custom interior job. i drift my mustang so i needed to cut all the weight i could. most of the plstic stuff on the inside is gone. no carpet back seat most of the stuff in the trunk. and if i really need to i take the hood off and cover the whole with a plastic sheet.

I think CF is good looking depending on the color of the car and style of hood i have seen stangs that look xtremely ugly with them and seen others that good look with it personally I would not like it 2 see it in my car only in some one else

i have to agree, i have seen some that look really good with cf and some that look horrible, i almost bought a black stang with a cf hood that looked pretty sick, so i guess it depends on your taste and what the car looks like. as far as reducing the weight i think it would be more worth it to use bolt ons for power, you wont be able to shead enough weight to equal the power increse from bolt ons, just my two cents, take it for what its worth, eiher way you already have a nice car.[/b]

in some cases it is, if your going to use it as a race car then you need to save all the weight you can, but if its a DD or a car that wont see a track or be raced, the money spent on CF accesories and other parts to make it lighter is a waste of money IMO. if you like the way CF looks and your going to be happy with it then i would say go for it and in that case it wouldnt be a waste of money if YOU are satisfied, doesnt matter what other people think looks good, its your car. but IMO i would save my money and buy bolt-ons for HP not reduce weight. all just my opinion do what YOU want and spend money where YOU want to
