super 44s vs original 40s?

Yes I know there are a thousand topics of these but everything I find has the same thing. One guy saying he loves the 44s and the guy right below him saying he likes the 40s.

If there is an article that answers this question in relation to my setup, I apologize.

For now though, after some good advice from people on this site, I have decided to run 2.5" tubing with an H-pipe set up. I'm going to get MAC longtube headers. With that set up, what will get me the deepest, most aggressive sound between those mufflers? I want something loud but I want to stay away from hallow/ricey sounds. I want that pure muscle sound at idle and when I rev the engine i want the guy next to me to be a bit intimidated (because I'll probably lose in a straight up race).

I keep reading that the orig 40s are louder over all, but that the super 44s have a deeper tone to them. Seeing as that you've had them all ESG, is that the case?

I like this thread. New guy comes in hoping to clear up his muffler decision, debate ensues, new guy is right back where he started

I have original 40's and they're pretty loud. I've never had any other mufflers on my car but I would gladly go with original 40s again. I'm running 2.25" piping and stock headers but with those long tubes you're going to get a louder sound. Overall you've picked a great setup, just hit up Youtube and see if you'd prefer original 40's, super 40's, or super 44's. I'm sure there are videos of all 3 on there although most won't have the long tubes with them.

NVM....i went to youtube and ESG is right....go with the original 40...a 3.8 needs the extra chamber in the muffler to get a deep rumble...

Single Chamber Mufflers are not spoken of much. With the way my Mustang with my mods, I get the best sounding exhaust possible with FLOWMASTER 10 SERIES. My video is posted page 3. Tell me if I could do better. They rumble with no tinny sound or popping. They are da shiot.

Not my choice need and midpipe and some 40's. personally i dont like v6s without a X,H pipe to balance pressure sure it dosent need it like the v8 but its a mile difference between the two v6 sounds.

Balance pressure between an even fire v6? - No sir, the two sounds are different with and without but without sounds so much better IMO.

there broken in, its the cats combined with the H pipe that are making them quiet. H/X are quieter than true duel, but id still take a X/H pipe.

By default I will always hate your exhaust... 40s + x pipe = ugh raspy. But it sounds good in videos
