Ground for Amp

Hi Guys,

I have a 2004 Mustang Coupe v6 3.8L. I just installed an infinity amp and 12 inch sub in the trunk. I can't find a good ground for the amp though. I know in the trunk, under the carpet there is a screw hanging down with a nut, which would make a logical choice. Though this does not seem to be working. Any suggestions on where else I could ground it?

Thanks in advance for the help...

Did you clean all the paint from around there?

I had mine grounded to one of the bolts that holds the rear seat belt's clicker side in underneath said seat. Make sure to clean a bit of the paint off as SickFox said, you need metal to metal contact.

I put my ground on a bolt hanging straight down from the top of the trunk near the stock speakers.

The seat belt screw is the best choice of course. You have the most surface area for your ground wire. also it wont come lose easy at all

Do you have proper power? Take a test light to the ends of the power and ground wire. Do you have your switched wire hooked up?
