Damn your lucky, exact same thing happened the day I got my duals done. Went to see if it could get welded and all 4 shops I went to (mind you driving with half an open exhaust) all said the manifold needed to be replaced. When they took the old one out though it was clear it had to be replaced. That cost me about $200 with the manifold.

i called a couple of places...they all said around 100 some were more, their reason being that it cant be welded while the header is still on the car so they have to take the whole thing off..but from what i saw from looking at it, it shouldnt be that effin hard to do. why cant this shit have waited until after christmas, already got enough shit to pay for

Pic is a v8 header...

There is a weld right at the spot mentioned...

OP, yours break like this: >?

Cost me only $30 and an hour at a local machine shop to get welded back up, has held fine.

The flange on the v6 header is welded as well I'm pretty damn sure.

You can get past that easily if the shop doesn't use a sniffer. And most don't unless your in Cali. Just get rid of the 2 pre cats, keeping the 2 big ones. Throw some O2 extenders in for the O2 sensors for those 2 cats, then buy MIL Eliminators for the 2 cats you got rid of.

I would personally go with MAC's because there is no welding required. He could install them in his own driveway. I doubt he has his own welder. But I could be wrong.

@Mach Stang, I can't believe you quoted me in your sig! I feel like a special person of the forum now lmao. Appreciate it bro.

problem is the shop wont install it because it's not legal. And the only reason I have a shop do this is because I never have the time or equipment to do it my self. though luck I know lol

I got mine welded for free.. The guy told me to pay him in a bag of sunflower seeds. So.. $2.75 for a welding job.

If you're having issues with LTs than getting STs wouldn't be a bad option. True LTs are much better but if you were planning on having the original manifold either replaced or welded back on then you won't mind the difference. STs are better and cheaper than going with a stock manifold.

Thats why I recommended Mac's in the first place, usually a shop wont do it because it involves "touching" the cats. No welding needed for Mac's all you have to do is have something that can cut your cats off. Unless there is another flange after the cats about that one.

got it fixed...cost me $92 and the guy said the reason our cars are so prone to this problem is because thats directly where the a/c drips..
so hot ass pipe+cold water over time= $92 in the crapper..
so after i left the shop i went to auto zone and bought a $2 rubber hose to redirect where the a/c drips.

and ya if you look its got a bead all the way around on both sides so it is welded
