Aligning TDC on a V6 3.8. Help Please?

okay so im a lil confused....im about to put my push rods and rocker arms back on but from my understanding i cant troque the rockers yet until im aligned at TDC. now on the crankshaft rotor theres two markings....1) an actual little cutout in the rotor and 2) theres like a ruler type thing in the rotor that goes ......20-10-0-10-20.....which one do i align to the pointer? the "0" or the Notch? oh and do i have to align all the cylinders like this? or just this one procedure then im good to go? please help guys?

u need to set TDC for each cylinder so using the harmonic balancer teeth to align it is pointless because that will only give you CYL #1 TDC you will have to set the TDC for each cylinder by checking through the spark plug holes.... i suggest you purchase a Haynes manual it will explain it better. you could also install all the push rods and rockers but do not torque them just snug them a bit then move the crank with a breaker bar until you see the valve springs for the piston your torquing relax (extent rather then compress) once they are in the most relaxed position this means your in your full compression stroke and TDC so you can torque the rocker arms for that cylinder. and repeat for all cylinders.

2 percylinder... well for the single port their is only 2...

uh that is the easiest way to do it... just make sure that their isn't anything that needs to be reinstalled and meshed with a certain part of the engine at a certain point...
