Crashed My Car :( Now What To Do?

Well to make a long story short my car's passenger side rear axle snapped from sliding into a median strip while trying to avoid a worse accident. Theres some dents in the rear quarter panel, the wheel is trashed, and the axle is snapped clean in half.

Is there anything else that could be wrong with the rear end? Should I just try and put in a new axle and is it a big deal to swap out? If I do decide to go ahead and swap in an 8.8 (I dont really have the money but I did find a nice one from a Mach with 4:10's) it will bolt right up without changing anything else, correct?

All i know is when i snapped my axle from a simliar accident...my insurance claimed my car as "totalled"

Going to an 8.8 is only if you plan on taking your car to higher HP and TQ

your old 7.5 is fine with bolt ons and gears

No kidding, I about cried I was so sad! I know the GT's have the same rear end, I need one now though so I can fix my car this week and the only one I've seen for sale locally is one from a Mach for $400, it also has 4.10's.

Thanks bud.

I dont have full coverage. Worst case scenario it seems to me that I would just replace the rear end. Shouldn't be a big deal, if I'm going to replace it though why stick in another 7.5? I'm tired of having an open diff and spinning everywhere and why put a t-lok in a weak 7.5?

Is there anything else I possibly could have fucked up inside the rear end or anything? If thats the case then I'll probably just do that, buy a new wheel, and bring it to the body shop when I can afford it.

I hit it pretty damn hard. The caliper looks alright, as does the shocks. I havent gotten a chance to look at the control arms and such because of work but I suspect they are okay. I know I need at the very least a new rotor, a new axle, and a new seal for the axle since its leaking gear oil everywhere. :/

Yea a kid in my class hit a curb going 7 (well he claims) mph, he bent everything up in the rear pretty bad.. I say after you get the rearend or axle fixed get your car on an alignment rack. That is the best way to check for suspension parts being bent

8.8 will bolt right up. You might have to make one bold hole bigger (I did) but I just takes a drill. Did you brake line break? (lol)

sell what you can and get a GT? id look into doing that. Whole new axles means a whole new rear end. You mention the quarter panel and wheel too. That could be close to 2 to 3 and maybe even 4 grand worth of work, if you have a shop do it.
