gas like smell from my mustang? 99 3.8l v6
hey guys,
im having this really weird smell coming out of the left side of my 99 3.8l mustang. its closer to the firewall and it smells like gas or sum type of really bad smell. also on the same side the car makes a weird thick,thick,thick noise when first starting up the car and accelerating in high gears? can anyone please help |

exhaust leak...i'd let it run and watch under it for 5 or so minutes to see if anything leaks...then pop the hood and try to find the exact source of the noise

probably a cracked header, when mine broke i sprayed some pb blaster on the nuts so it would be easier to take out and when i started the engine smoke was coming from under the hood, so i popped it and some of the crap got into the leak and was shooting out in a foot long loud that looked like steam lol. sspraying something on there will help you find the leak but i could bet you its at the flange
