Need help!
im replacing my axle. we removed the differential pinion shaft lock bolt so we could remove the pinion shaft lock to put on the u clip. then my friend hit the shaft UPWARDS trying to get it out and now its stuck between the gears and the top of the differential housing and i cant turn the axles anymore because the shaft is blocking the gears from turning. and the new axle is also stuck in there now also. it has some clearance like half an inch at the top in between the shaft and housing; i can put my finger in between the shaft and top of the housing but thats it. we tried to jam a crobar into the top and hit it downwards but its still stuck. we also tried to take out the spider gears too but we cant even get out the new axle anymore. any ideas anyone?

Get a new axle and differential and a new friend. More than likely it is damaged.. Put up some pics and we might be able to help you out without using hammers..

![]() Pics would be great. Sounds like you have a mess. I would suggest not doing anything crazy with it and thoroughly think through before using brute force on the axle and diff... it may be damaged now but pics can change anything.

A picture would help. If it's as I'm imagining it the pinion shaft needs to move toward the center of the differential. Perhaps putting vice grip pliers on the pinion shaft and hitting the pliers with a hammer would get it loose. You will probably need a new pinion shaft.
