Keyless entry problems
Has anyone else here had problems with the keyless entry i can unlock my car but I can't lock it from my remote. Ive check all the fuses in the car Ive resynced it several times but still wont work. Any ideas on what else to check? If I push the lock button twice the horn honks so its receiving the lock signal Its not the motor in the door because I can lock it from inside the car just fine just not from remote. Any ideas please help. Thanks

I think there is a problem with the recieving end on the door itself and although it works it may not be getting the signal through to the door but it sends it to the other components like usual.
You're gonna need to take it to ford and cut off your arm to pay to fix this. But that's just what I believe and since you've tried it all it seems ford is your best option and the only thing else I can think of is check your chips regardless of whether they work for the door or not and make sure everything is plugged in right and pushed in all the way. and one other idea could be a wire somewhere is not hooked in right. but where I don't know. (in the door, keypad, idk sorry) sorry if this is confusing but I thought of things as I was typing =p |

my bet is that it's the remote.. if you don't have a second remote AND key, you are looking at $130'ish to get a second remote programmed (You need two keys to program the remotes).

Yeah but if its the remote why does it (push once does nothing push again and it honks the horn) just like every other one Ive seen first locks driver door second locks all doors.

Thats why i asked for digram so i could trace the wires coming out of the receiver on the car.

try to reprogram the remote.. you DON'T need two keys to do that.
cycle the key about 8 times from off to on position, without turning the car on- untill you hear the door locks click.. then press any button on the remote, turn the key to the off position and baM.. you just reprogrammed your remote.. that should fix the prob. |

I didn't have a remote so I bought one off of ebay and I only have one key. didn't have any problems programing the remote. works perfect.
from my understanding two keys are only needed if you need to program the KEYS ... the fob- remote is a whole different story. |
