All talk or not

Ok so this kid at my school has if I remember right a 1997 V6, I think its a 97 is a pre-99 anyway. When he bought it it had a shift kit, ported heads, and a chip, then he told me he put flow 40s on it but I walked by it the other day and didn't see any duals comin out the back...I was late for school so I didn't stop to look but usually you can see em pretty easy so I think he might have been lieing lol I dont know. Anyway he is always talking about how fast it is and that he can take me. No I have a 2003 stock v6...maybe he can beat me but I just dont see it, only thing that would make him able tobe me would be the ported heads but I dont know how much extra hp they give. The other thing he tells me that cracks me up was that if I got a chip for my car I could run with GTs easy I was thinkin I wanna find where these GTs run cause there is no way in hell lol. Anyway what to you all think?

well with a chip you could stomp a say... regular 69 mustang gt easy.. (just because of weight).. but a gt of the same year will make you look stupid.. i can see you keeping up with 95-98 gts with a chip or beating stock 5.0s but those 2 are whimpy v8s

Are you an auto or manual? He might have flows that r dumped =/ but if hes lieing about that then most likely hes lieing about some of the other stuff as well. I think you will beat him...

I've got a manual. I can outshift an auto but with that shift kit I'd need a short shifter.

Pre 99 V6 huh.. less hp, and worse gearing, and i think heavier...Since he knows nothing of chips its prolly the 20 ebay one or some garbage...ported heads would give him like 25-30 hp...still 10 less than you and from what Ive seen they seem to lose a LOT of power through the drivetrain

No way your out shifting a auto with a shift kit sry. If it is a good kit he will out shift pro drivers, but it would be a close race IMO

Its not hard to outshift an auto with a shift kit green....

The exception to this is the drag cars with 3speed trannys and ultra high stalls....
