I hope so because I cant afford a new tuner and cant find a used one for a good price. I live about 4 hours away from where i am at now and want it to run right so I can make it home.

Exactly! I haven't had my engine tuned since I got it. everything is running fine tho. I had to replace my IAC valve when I got it back. took the computer to get used to the new motor and I had to adjust the tap on the throttle body cuz the idle was too high. but it's all good now. I just hope everything goes well when I put the new maf and injectors on.

Its going to be tough changing injectors, MAF, engine displacement without a tune. Idk if it's worth the risk. I know you don't have much money, but then what'll you do if you screw something up running it like that. On another note, bigger injectors might just cause you to run rich, but that can lead to problems too.

Hell yeah that is a relief and good to know! Well how soon will you be able to get the new injectors and maf in, so you can see how your beast reacts. Im excited to be able to get back on the road soon and have some muscle in the car.

I'm not sure when I'm going to get them put on. I found a rearend and if I can get that the rearend is definitely going on first. A guy I know said he would put injectors in for $50 but will prolly be $125 bc I have to take the intake off. So we'll see.

Why are you having somebody else do injector swaps for for $125? You can do it in like an hour easily and there is nothing at all complicated about it. If you'd like I'll take a few pictures as I take mine off to do the swap.

I would spend the money on a tune over a rear end. Especially since you paid an outrageous 2700$ for a "stock" motor.

@9986paulk pics would be great. i removed the injectors off the mark vIII myself without a problem. but when I was reading how to install injectors it sounded a lil too involved for my experience. I just don't want to mess anything up.

like i said in an earlier post i could not afford to get an engine from ssm all forged and everything. i clearly see that you are not a fan of the motor which is fine. i do appreciate your input. so regardless of what i paid, i now have to work with what i have.

Not that, I'm just not a huge fan of wasting money {even if its not mine}... But you should really invest in a real tune, or at least have tricktuners.com or vmptuning.com make you a good data logged tune before buying anything else.

Is there anyone that can confirm this for me. Some old guy told me that some 96-98 4.6 motors had ev6 injectors but the plug on the ev6 injector is ev1 connector. I cant seem to confirm this on the enet. If so then I found a 97 Lincoln continental that has 32 valve 4.6 with 24lbs injectors in it at the junk yard yesterday that I might go back and get.

I've decided to not install the injectors. I'm just going to save my money for a tune, rearend, and hopefully turbo. Turbo will be the biggest and most expensive mod so I don't want to waste any money on ridiculous mods that won't do anything but lengthen my mod sheet but not give me any real hp or tq gains.

I know this is old, but what kind of power is your motor putting out, and how does it run?
