mustang problems

I have a couple of issues actually(damn ford and there electrical issue) well the first is it seems as though after I installed my cai when I really get on it, if I have the heat or air on it stops blowing how I had and starts blowing through the defrost vents..... 2nd I guess it might be rear defrost its the only little button below the radio is this supposed to be a real button or lite up because I can push it in but it does nothing. this one is what I figure a good problem I guess well slowly as I mod my car Im noticing things on it are already done I knew that I had different mufflers but Im beggining to think the whole exhaust was done Sign In
does that look like stock headers... sorry never had a mustang b4

yep, no pics.

As for as your air blowing through the defrost vents; you have a broken vacuum line somewhere along the firewall. Its one of the plastic lines that runs parallel to the firewall and can be traced to the passenger side of the firewall to a good sized grommet just above the AC accumulator/drier.

For the rear defrost, does that button have anything stamped on it in white (white frame with wavy lines?)......third, if you have a rear defrost system and it is not working, check the fuse first. Your owners manual will let you know which fuse is in the defroster circuit.
I'm pretty sure that button should have an orange light when the defrost is on. Also, try putting the front vent control into the defrost position (full clockwise) and then turn on the rear defrost button. not sure if they work independently or not, but this would be a way to find out.

The rear defrost button should have a symbol and a light like you said ^
and it does work independently from the front defrosters.

I apologize for bringing an old thread back to life but hey I searched and this came up but i need a little bit more info if you wouldnt mind. in one of the replies Cobraman1024 stated that one of the vacuum lines along the firewall may have somethign to do with the dash vents not working. Well i tracked them down and the drivers side line is broken but in a vacuum line diagram it does not show where it goes, so if someone would please give me some insight i would appreciate it.

First off, they're not called headers, they're exhaust manifolds from the factory. As for your paint options you could use something like this:

If it's humid it would make it take longer to dry, But if your'e doing it in the garage the rain shouldnt bug it if you let it dry properly.
