Rear Bumper Inserts & Cut-Outs For Exhaust

Does anyone know how to get these?

I am trying to get a dual exhaust on my V6

from my understanding i need

1) Flow Master 40 (2.5" or 3.0? offset/offset or offset/center?)
2) o/r H-Pipe Or just go straight out? (What does o/r mean?)
3) Rear Bumper Inserts (Make it look like a GT/cobra)
6) anything else i am missing?

go with the 2.5

2) o/r H-Pipe Or just go straight out? (What does o/r mean?)
o/r means off road.. no cats on it... makes more power but is illegal

3) Rear Bumper Inserts (Make it look like a GT/cobra)
ebay
6) anything else i am missing?
a GT bumper

1. get muffler for 2.25 to 2.5in piping

2. o/r means no cats. If you have emissions you will need a custom h-pipe or catted x-pipe

3. do you mean like the black letters?? Autobadges.com has them

4. If you want to go for power get long tube headers

Ya the o/r is offroad. It's illegal in places where they have emmissions testing. Fortunately I'm in FL and we don't test. Cutouts and insert? If you want your back bumper to look like a gt/cobra then call up the ebays and get one then get it painted to match, set you back quite a bit. Your pipes should clear your back bumper (mine did on the v6 stock bumper) so you don't need a gt bumper for duals. If you have a regular coupe (not vert) then I would suggest getting longtube headers with the rest of the exhaust, you will want them later and then you'll have to get a new midpipe so might as well get it all at once so you don't have to go back and get a new midpipe

GT bumper

So there is no way to get a GT bumper look with like a rear bumper valance or an insert, I HAVE TO HAVE a GT bumper?

Ebay doesnot carry an real bumper insert for 99-04 model. I searched for 4 hours on internet only to find out that roush had only the rear side valence, very useless.

I also took my car to a local exhaust guy (Approx 350 for single to dual exhaust conversion)
he said

1) No need for H-pipe or X-pipe, just take it straight out from cats (Leave Cats to pass state emissions, Texas)
2) Suggested to use a "pro-sound" mufflers instead of flowmaster 40, he said that flowmaster restricts the sound and that i will get a better sound with his own brand of muffler (flowmasters were another 100 extra)
3)He gurrentied a V8 roar after his conversion.

I have read all the post on this website and have been on it for like 6 hrs straight. Have you guys put up a video of the exhaust system yet?

The only mod i have so fat are the 19" chrome rims
295/35/19 rear 255/30/19 front

I have a 2002 Convertible

Thanks
VB

1 A crossover bar will even out idle and give you a deeper tone but it isn't needed

2. he is trying to sell his product get a trusted muffler you have heard of like flows, and I paid 350 for mine with flows so don't let him over charge.
3. impossible we have an even fireing motor it will never sound like a v8

and what do you mean by insert??? YOu can get a gt bumper off ebay or other various sites or just hang the exhaust under your stock bumper

you can cut out the v6 bumper yourself but most ppl fuck it up and it looks like ass.

yes they do
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/MUSTA...02093149QQrdZ1

I also took my car to a local exhaust guy (Approx 350 for single to dual exhaust conversion)

not a bad price for custom work but if you bring in your own parts is shoul be cheaper.

he said

1) No need for H-pipe or X-pipe, just take it straight out from cats (Leave Cats to pass state emissions, Texas)

you car will sound like ass with dumps on it.

2) Suggested to use a "pro-sound" mufflers instead of flowmaster 40, he said that flowmaster restricts the sound and that i will get a better sound with his own brand of muffler (flowmasters were another 100 extra)

they restrict sound?
umm they are called FLOW Master for a reason

3)He gurrentied a V8 roar after his conversion.

he is wrong. a v6 can sound beastly but it won't sound like a v8

it's about $3.00 to fab up a hanger and he doesn't need mil eliminators if he is running his cats.

Cutting dual exhaust openings in a 1999-2004 Mustang V6 bumper

http://www.miracerros.com/mustang/bumper.htm

This is a smaller version of that long link, nevertheless, thanks!

OK so my final conclusion

1)Buy flow master 40's from ebay ( ~100 )
2)Take it to the local exhaust guy and have him do the custom H-pipe (Or can i buy a custom H-pipe already cut for my car?) (~150?)
3)Get a GT bumper (That cutting out stuff...i rather build a rocket)
4)If the exhaust guy is willing to do all this, then pay him no more then 375? (H-pipe/X-pipe, Flowmaster 40 and choice of my muffler)

How much did you all spend on youe ehaust system?

~~Terminology help~~
1)"x but H IMO" whats IMO?

2) mil eliminators ?

3) ehaust hangers? (Hangers more then ehause, got the ehaust part

**do you guys know if there is a local dallas tx forms where they also like meet up in somewhere and show off their cars?**

IMO - in my opinion

the mil eliminators keep ur check engine light from coming on, but u dont need them unless ur taking out ur cats

exhaust hangers are what hold the entire system up
