Anti-Exhaust

Hi guys I just thought I would start a new topic bc I get upset everytime I log on and see "Exhaust question" and the person asks what's better, an Hpipe or Xpipe and what cats they should get. I think a sticky should be put up with undisputable facts about them such as HP differences and general differences in sound and then users can post their exhausts and a sound clip so new people can look there instead of asking 3x a day

the thing is, is that even though you make a sticky on exhaust people will still ask about it...i highly doubt its going to stop questions like "what exhaust should i get" or "what mods for my v6 should i get" the same questions we see everyday

what are those stats about though? Looks like cobra or something b/c it lists HP in the 350+ range. It also doesn't take into account sound (as far as I saw) which is what alot of the exhaust posts are about

yeah, thats why I stopped answering them. lol. The same damn question gets asked every day on "what mods should i get", what exhaust should I get." it gets very old answering the same question 15 times a week. lol. USE THE SEARCH ENGINE ON THIS SITE DAMNIT!! lol. sorry, it gets on my nerves. Click search, and type in "MODS" ....problem solved....

Impossible to do because sound is an opinion, so you get 5 opinions on the same 1 exhaust setup .

Unless you have the funds to get every muffler & catback on a v6 stang and test them all on a dyno this "undisputable" information is impossible.

Also for sound you could test using decibels but you would be testing 20 or 30 different exhaust/muffler setups. And you would have to test each with stock mainfolds / shorties / long tubes + stock y/hpipe/xpipe/straight pipes

Would be fun, but take forever

I say we all put up sound clips of the exhaust we have in one thread, and get it stickied so everyone can just listen and decide what they like the most for themselves.

Ok this would be a mock post in a stickied exhaust, the first post would have the explanation of o/r and cats and also between H, Y, and X. Then it would say the mainstream muffler systems and a link or brief explanation of some of the common differences. Then everyone who got a new exhaust can post a reply saying...

I just got an o/r H-pipe and Mac 2.5-3.0 catbacks. <<INSERT SOUND CLIP HERE>>

I think that we cover almost all of the common setups here, flows macs and I think someone has borlas. Overall I think that would cut down on a lot of newbie posts where people say "exhaust question" "I'm thinking about getting XXX and these XXX catbacks, what do you guys think?"

Nope, would not cut down -
A.) for the most part most exhaust sounds change the longer you have it
B.) people are always going to want to know what you think about your exhaust setup
C.) << Its almost impossible to get a good exhaust clip on the computer >>
