He can use the mods for the 99-04 engines. Really there is no difference, in anything but .1L in the block. Heads and everything are the same. For forced inducation such as a supercharger have him check out procharger, vortech, paxton, or take the m90 off of the thunderbirds, but stay away from powerdyne. For turbos he is kinda SOL unless he wants to fabricate his own setup.

I myself own a 3.9 and have done a little research on the engine. The only difference between the 3.8 and the 3.9 is the length of the stroke. The 3.9's stroke is approximately .021 longer than the 3.8 which leads me to believe that the difference is in the connecting rods or different size pistons, more than likely, the connecting rods. Now, the heads may also be different to accomodate the longer stroke, however, I haven't delved that far down into it. As far as forced induction, I do know that the ProCharger Intercooled supercharger kit that I have seen on RPMOutlet.com will work and is about the best deal for your money with significantly more bang for the buck, however, due to the nature of the 3.9, you will need to take it to a speedshop and put it on the dyno to get a perfect tune or you may be able to use a Hypertech programmer, maybe even an SCT XCalibrator. Again, I am not sure on that. I hope that this helps out.
