odd shaking

Ok so when leaving a soccer game tonight, I began to notice something. Now let me just say that this only happened 2 times, but got me worried.

So whats going on is under normal acceleration, when the car (auto) sifts into 4th gear, there is a small vibration that feels like it comes from the back seat area. The vibration only last for like a half second. It feels almost like your going over those rumble strips on the side of highways, just with out the noise and a little more vibration to it.

Its really got me worried that its the tranny. The car has 109K miles and the fluid has been changed in the tranny at a 106K. Anyone have any ideas on this?

Check the bolts for the driveshaft/u-joints and the condition of them as well.

Junkyard might end up being your best friend if you can do the swap yourself. But just from what I have seen most of the time reverse goes out first. Did both the times it happen, happen after you changed the fluid?

if your tranny goes out you can do a t5 swap for cheaper than a rebuilt 4r70w.

ok, just got out from under the car today. Checked the driveshaft and u-joints. all seem to check out a okay. I'll get some pics up in a minute. Took it for a drive after to try to replicate it at various RPM's.. also tried O/D at 60 on and off. Nothing.

on a side note I did find that my shocks are shot lol. Joy, lets replace those too.

well it drives, I'm just afraid of that day were it refuses to shift or I start spewing white smoke or something. Though If I'm really sneaky, I was looking at an 89 5.0 lately, maybe I could trade it before anything happens lol

humm idk. Although also today, we pulling out slowly from a parking lot, it felt like there was "pulling" going on. It felt like it took more, umph to the gas to get the car to move from like 2mph and up. And yes the car was warm then.

you sure its the same kind of vibration? because i would be concerned. lol crap i was freaking out first time i felt it, i was thinking my driveline or tranny was gonna pop out in the freeway, its an intermittent vibration, feels like its coming from the rear, yet its strong enough for you to feel it in the front. lasts about 3-4 secs, theres no banging noise or any kind of noise, just shaking. kinda like a mini earthquake in the car.

Yes its the same, I do have a like a bad humming noise coming from the back of the car and its shakes for 3 seconds until i tap the gas. Idk I had a few mechanics look underneath the car and they said everything was in great condition. I think its just the tranny acing up a little. Ford wasn't know for their autos.
