Need help picking out tires

Alright so i have an 01 v6 stock. My tires are shot and need new ones. I live in Jersey so i kinda need tires that will wont kill me in the snow.. even though anything is better than what i have.

I have about 200 pounds in the trunk to help out a little but its still not great.
I dont have the money to buy snow tires and buy regular tires so i just want a good all season tire.

Tire size- 225/55r/16

I was looking at Continental ExtremeContact DWS.. buI dont know about continental.. i heard good things about them but still i know people that dont like them..

Thanks for Your Help

Continental are good tires. Just check tirerack for ratings on them. I still think you should look for a used set of snow tires with good tread and rims, they pop up on craigslist for $200 from time to time.

Personally I would get all seasons since winter is almost winding down. But that is just me. I have continentals on my car, haven't had a problem besides the one time I drove in the snow. But then again I have very little tread left on the rears.

They ride fine to me. My problem is I have had a screw stuck in one of my rear tires since the summer... Hasn't let out air yet. But I have some stock bullitt rims waiting to go on my car, also wrapped in Continental tires. So if the person who had my car before me got Continentals and the person who owned the car I got the bullitts off of has them. They must be decent.

Only buy snow tires if youre going to switch them off in the summer. If its warm and you drive on snow tires they wear out really quickly. I bought snow tires for my car used and they are really good in the winter, I havent had any problems driving around in 3-4 in of snow with some weight in the trunk.

All seasons are kinda the "best of both worlds." The traction is better in snow and rain than summer tires, but they are as "grip-y" as summer tires. They also dont have as much traction in bad weather as snow tires. So if you're on a budget or are too laz yto switch tires over than they're a good choice

all season tires are not that good on smaller/mid size cars. they are good for SUV's and full size cars. i wouldnt be driving in the snow without snowtires in our cars but since winter is winding down i would get all seasons like demon said and buy another set of snows in next winter.
