1979-04 Mustang Specific Rate Red Lowering Springs by SVE at LRS - Same Day Shipping!

i was looking at those but idk if the drop is worth getting them. plus i would have to get new isolators and CC plates from them which are only 100 but.... can you cut the stock springs and still not have to get CC plates?

Those are for a v8. You're not gonna get as much of a drop with those on a v6 because v8's are heavier.

Depends on how low you want to go really. I've seen stangs dropped as much as 3".
I've read that you need C&C plates for anything more than 1.5", but its kind of hit or miss as to whether you need them for a 1.5" drop or not.

Ask 6er about cutting springs. I think he said like 1 1/2 coils on the front and 1 1/4 coils on the back?

my v6 and my GT got 1.25 coils off the front and 1 coil off the back w/ no isolators

no C&C plates needed...however if your worried about it do 1 coil all the way around w/ no isolators

you'll be fine w/o iso's...just wrap the ends of the springs in a tad bit of electric tape and it'll do the same job. and thats keeping it from squeaking sometimes (which rarely happens for me)...

Have them cut? Or have lowering springs put in?
I doubt a shop would cut them for you. To install springs probably like $100 ish I would think.

i didn't either when i first did my v6...but thanks to youtube i learned quick...never pay a shop for something you can learn to do yourself with no real effort. thats wasting money IMO

@ag11hockey...like i posted earlier...

1.25 off the front and 1 off the back w/ no isolators...if you think you have too much negative camber for some reason you can either a) have an alignment shop fix it with camber bolts or b) put the Isolators back in to lift it a .25-.50"

Its gonna be a lot more, you are gonna pay 100+ per hour for labor.

Like 6er said better off learning how to do it. Bribe a couple of buddies with some drinks and lunch to help you out.

So 6er, I was talking to my mechanic buddy about helping me cut my springs today. He told me a big "NOOOOOO" and yes I am quoting that no. He was telling me it would ruin my shocks/struts in the long run. He also told me that is the ONE thing he wouldn't help me with. He is still helping me with my build though... at no cost to me.

He said exactly this... "It will ruin your shocks/struts, because they were designed to work with that spring height you have now. Lowering your car would make them have to go lower than they were designed to go. Causing you to go through struts all the time as well as ball joints, etc."
