need some help

Ok, so to start off i have no clue what is going on with my car. It all started after i installed the chip on it. (1999 v6). at that time i would have a problem with it dying all the time at idle. so i removed it, cleaned the contacts and everything was fine. Now, im having a somewhat similar problem. I just had an O/R X-pipe dual exhaust system put on by a muffler shop today. After leaving everything was fine, sounded great, the whole 9 yards. But now im having issues with it not only idling, but driving in general. When i let off the gas the rpms drop to nearly 250 and ive got to give it gas to keep it running. Also, when it IS idling at normal rpm it almost seems like for a millisecond it tries to die then catches itself. The rpms kinda jump and occasionally rev to 1200 for a split second. The final thing its doing is when i put it to the floor it seems to bog down then suddenly BOOM, it starts accelerating normal again. i tried to narrow down to possibly a dead cylinder. But out of gear and when i rev it its perfect. It doesnt seem to be missing although i do feel a slight jerk going down the road. but im almost sure it doesnt have a miss simply cause out of gear revving it sounds as normal as it always has. Now, i assumed maybe the chip was going bad again so i removed it only to find its still doing this. Although it isnt neccesarilly all the time. I know this is alot but im just really nervous it could be something bad, and i really cant afford a motor swap at the moment.

what kinda mid pipe was it and where are your front o2 sensors now sitting...that can explain the idle issue to an extent

Its a pypes dual exhaust set up. o/r x-pipe. (i know its nothing fancy but its what i could afford). all 4 o2 sensors were screwed back into both the pipes off the headers and on the x. though i dont have any mil eliminators yet. The chip i had is a SCT 4-bank eliminator chip from american muscle. its just weird cause this all really became an issue after the exhaust was installed. and i doesnt do it all the time either. sometimes it bogs, drops idle and tries to die. and sometimes not. but more so than not.

sounds like maybe they didn't put the o2's back in the right spot. you can't mix the spots up...driver front o2 goes to the new driver front o2 locations and so on so forth

Did you have the chip before you did your exhaust? If so that MIGHT be the issue, your car is looking for 2 front O2's but can't find them.... idk I just had a good explanation in my head but I somehow lost track of it.

well there's your problem lol..the front two tell your car how much gas to mix with the amount of air your using...w/o them being plugged in your car is guessing which is why your having all these issues...look under the car and see if your front o2's aren't plugged in to the female ends which are just past the manifold flanges (you'll need a jack)...or take it back to the shop and and ask them to lift it and fix their mistake.

heres another stupid thing, i noticed one of them was cut on the wiring cause i looked like the connector melted together at one point. i know the back two are connected at least that one that was cut wasnt reconnected obviously. but wouldnt that have made the problem immediately? it took a small amount of driving. maybe 15 miles. before this all really started happening.

just went out to double check, all but one front o2 sensor is connected (the one that was cut). although im not sure if when they removed them if they were played back in the same location or switched up, if that matters. could just that one cut one be affecting it?
