Headlight Restorer Review
Hey guys just wanted to throw up a little review of this headlight restorer I used today. Sorry if this is a repost. I did a search and couldn't find anything but anyways here I go.
This is the kit I used. It's the Crystal View headlight cleaner I got at Wal Mart for $17. I also got 100 grit sand paper. ![]() Before ![]() ![]() After This is the one that I rubbed down with the sand paper that I bought extra. After I sanded this one, I opened the pack to find that it comes with its own super fine sand paper and said nothing in the directions about getting extra. So I didn't do the other one. This one looks much cleaner. ![]() This one looks better but not as good as the first one. But it did start out worse though. ![]() Overall I'd say moderate gains in appearance with medium/med-high gains in visibility. It really helped me see tonight. Sorry I don't have before and after pics of them in action. I'll be gettin HIDs soon so that will give me even better visibility. I may go buy another pack and do this again when I get my HIDs. For $17 I'd say it's a pretty good deal. I would suggest getting some coarser sand paper than what comes with the pack and throughly going over them with it before using the kit. The directions are very clear along with the warnings. I suggest reading over the entire thing before starting. And here's just a pic I took while I was out there lol ![]() ![]() ClemsonFan21 |

colgate toothpaste (the gritty kind) and a buffer pad for a drill/driver (like the one that comes in the 3m kit)

I know that clear headlights look a whole lot sexier. But I've had the SUPER foggy ones for so long that I'm almost use to them and this is a HUGE improvement for me. My main focus though is visibility above all else.

no need to buy a "kit"
just buy some 1500 and 2000 grit wet/dry sandpaper, and sand the lights down, First with the 1500 to take much of the oxidation off, and then the 2000 to finish and clean everything up. Next buff/ polish the lights with some scratch remover and plastic polish. My lights were almost as bad as yours when i fist bought the car, and now they are very very clear |

I did eventually find that thread you are talking about. The next time I do it I'll probably take them out and use the help he gives.

Mine were pretty foggy too when I bought my car. I found the ebay method was the easiest method that required the least work and got the best results
![]() Yeah, I just bought new headlights because the old ones were foggy and I hated the chrome housings

No kidding man. I can't stand them on any color Mustang. I sort of wish I'd gone with clear corner headlights though

I HATE the chrome housing ones, as does everyone else. I honestly don't really like the clear corner lights though.
