Cold Draft in my car!

Its Winter.. and I live in New England.. its freaking cold out. Yes, yes.. I have heat in my car.. But it doesn't last too long with the cold draft that's mysteriously coming from my radio/foot area.. As far as I know, there isn't any gaping holes in my firewall, or stuff of that nature.. anyone else have this issue or know a fix? Thanks

If it feels like its coming from around the radio, it might be coming in from around the shifter. Underneath the shifter bezel, which you should be able to carefully lift up from around the edges, be careful of any attached elec. connections and shift knob if applicable, there should be a rubber boot around the shifter handle. That rubber boot, I believe is the only thing seperating the inside from the outside. At least on my manual trans, I've never really paid attention to whats under/around the auto shifter mechanism. If you do have a manual check the condition of the rubber boot for cracks, missing pieces and that it is securely attached. If an auto, feel around the bottom of the shifter for any drafts.

Though here in Kansas, there is almost always a cold spot near where the e-brake handle rests in the down position.

Yeah, its coming from that general area.. I can't pinpoint the location though. I'm go go check my shifter and E-Brake now, because its freezing out! Thanks for the advice!
