steering column question


something in my column is broken not allowing the key to engage and its not the tumbler so can I use this 00 MUSTANG STEERING COLUMN TILT CLOCK SPRING KEY - eBay (item 350156492911 end time Mar-12-11 11:11:13 PST)
and swap in my ignition cylinder and just put it in or will something still have to be programmed

also I found a get steering column for cheaper are they interchangeable

I can't guarantee they are interchangleable from a 2000 to a 2002. But I did do a swap from from a 1997 into a 1996. I know that doesn't really help much, but it shows it might be possible.
