New edge windstar question
K guys let me start off by saying i tried the search and no answer came up for me. Well I got answers but not what I was looking for. K I have a friend with an 01 sixxer and he wants to do the winstar intake upgrade. Now my questions are which tb and plenum do you need for this to work and will a plenum and tb from a new edge 4.6 bolt on to the windstar intake. Thanks for your time guys and I appreciate you taking the time to answer

No plenum needed, the TB bolts right on to the upper intake. Yes, a GT TB will work. I believe VAP sells their kits with GT TBs. However I believe they modify the part where the throttle and CC cable connect so that is sticks out further.
Edit: Went and found a pic to show you what I mean: ![]() You can see the only thing between the TB and intake is an angled spacer (although not everybody uses one, I don't believe it was included in older VAP kits). And coming off the the right side of the TB you can see the extended arm.

The angled TB spacer helps keep the elbow from rubbing on the hood.
And Yeah you have to modify the stock GT TB alittle to get it to work. |

Everett you shoulda known I had one from facebook :p
Even with the angled spacer mine hits the heat shield under the hood.. I also had to grind part of the cruise control bracket down... Im guessing my motor sits a tad higher than the coupes

How long does the install on one of these take?
I have a week off for Spring break soon so I'd like to get a kit by then, but if I don't, is it something I could do on a saturday? I'm at college still, so no garage or tools here on campus.

Depends on how handy you are with a wrench and what kind of tools you'll have access to. Go to VAPauto.com and read through the install guide. It could be a 2-3 hour install or a week long install.

Only tools you need are a 54set kit at Walmart for $9.99.
Also a hacksaw to cut egr piping.. Or just remove that Will take 4 hours taking your time

I have pretty much any tool I would need. The only tools I don't have at my house is specialized stuff, like pully pullers and spring compressors and such. But who knows my dad might actually have some of those laying around too.
