that looks like some good mods. i was planning on doing the gears as well. as far as power, the gears are not going to add any power but will deffinetly make your car faster and for the the headers and rockers they will add a some power. im not sure about the stock horspower on a sn-95 V6 but my 99 V6 with a CAI, and dual exhaust has 163.5rwhp and 200rwtq

As far as stock HP on a 99 3.8 V6, you would be looking around 193 HP at the flywheel which roughly equates to 168-172 RWHP depending on the dyno you use and weather conditions during the runs. I also have a MustangTuning.com CAI and can tell you that before I added the rest of the mods on my car, the increase was very noticeable, especially on my 3.9. Unfortunately, there isn't a dyno around here for me to find out exactly how much RWHP I currently have, but I can tell you that it's performance seems like it has been upped substantially. I still have some more mods to accomplish before I can call the project done, some of which you are planning to do like the Trac-Lok 3.73's, Underdrive pulleys and headers, however I am going one step further by getting the package deal on the UD pulleys with the programmer and belt. Once I am in a place that has a dyno available (which won't be too much longer as I am leaving this God-forsaken state in 3 weeks and heading to Arizona), I will be sure and post the results after all is completed. A rough estimate I think for the mods that you have listed will probably generate upwards of 185-195 RWHP after tuning if you go that route. My disclaimer on this is that it really all depends on the dyno. Have fun!

id say with a non-split port v6, you should consider long tubes vs. the short tubes if you want power and support for other mods. also, automatic will make less rwhp than 5-speed due to parasitic loss of power in transmission. you would see about 160-170 rwhp compared to the stock rwhp of about 130. do a split port swap and a cam, and you will be running with me.

gears dont add power, just distribute it and multiply it. but intake and full exhaust will give you the rwhp of the stock crank hp, and more than that will just be icing on the cake. remember though, it is a v6 so keep your long term aspirations in mind and write out a full plan of where you want to be in 5, 10. 15 years with this or another car. the car is the 2nd-largest investment in life, so dont dig too deep a hole...

those harland sharp rockers are not really made for our motors geometery, and from my understanding the 1.7 and 1.8's will scrape the guide holes and cause a nice tapping sound, but will work. you might want to look at the pro magnum comp cam stud mounted rockers that supersix motorsports sells, but they are much more $$$

i would also weigh the cost of the posi and gears + install versus swapping to either a takeoff 8.8 or getting a new frpp 8.8?

yea, with over 400-450 rwhp, the 7.5" rear wont hold up on stick shift cars and sticky tires. an automatic should be okay for a while, but the 7.5" rear was prone to breaking on mildly modded old 5.0L

im planning to get it at about 200-250 hp and stop so i dont think it is necessary to switch to an 8.8 just yet. im also worried about long tube headers dragging the ground escpicially where i live (lots of bumps) and i realize that rearends dont generate hp but just added that up there to let you now what i plan on doing and yes my car is an auto

i have a 1.25" drop up front and my long tubes do not scrape at speed bumps. i have to treat speed bumps as stop signs though.

the most prone part to break in our 7.5's are the spider gears, they will break if you try to run slicks. the mac lt's are a good start, but will dog you in the low end, but those 4.10s will help that. might want to look into a little cam action if you plan on staying n/a.

yeah, and since it is an automatic transmission, slap in a higher converter and then you can brake stand it at say 2500-3k rpms and launch. but doing so with a 7.5" rear is asking to break an axle.

supersixmotorsports.com says that if i do get the comp cam rockers i have to measure and buy new pushrods too, so i might just get a cam and forget the roller rockers...

do you think this cam is good enough?

loud will not sound good. get a cam and long tubes, off road H pipe, and flowmaster 40 series and it will sound okay and be very loud. but without an aggressive cam, a loud v6 will sound like shit.
