Sloppy

My clutch pedal feels sloppy. The clutch still grabs good, but it engages at the very top of my pedal, which is annoying the shit out of me, and affecting my shifts. I have used the "Clutch Adjustment Guide" and this works ok, but it does not fix my problem. I feel that if i keep driving in these conditions im shortening the life of my clutch, which is no bueno

Could it be possible that i have:
bent the plastic clutch quadrant?
somehow loosened or "stretched" the clutch cable?

WHAT COULD HAVE MADE THIS HAPPEN?
The car has 36,000 miles, and i dont want to believe that my clutch could possibly be going out so young....

Advice on what to do?

look above the gas pedal and you'll be able to see if anything is up with the quadrant....to check your cable jack up the front of the car and slide under the tranny...there's a dust shield held on by a 10mm bolt. take the shield off and you'll be able to see your cable

36k on a 10yr old car!?!?!? Lucckkyyyyyy!

But yeah check all that out, and I suggest the Steeda Clutch Adjuster kit, which gives you a new quadrant, cable, and firewall adjuster. You can then set your clutch to the release point you like.

You really can use just the cable and get the same effect. I used the firewall adjuster and it actually made my cable start to bind. The quadrant would be good too. But I just see it as being a stronger quadrant. With the settings you get with it. It makes the pedal way to low to use, so it ends up back near stock height.
